Join us for a boo-tiful morning at the MFA as we welcome families with children with sensory sensitivities to explore the galleries in a calm, quiet environment. On the first Saturday of every month, from 10 am to 12 pm, all rotating audio components in the galleries are turned down or muted to create a more soothing experience.
For October, we’re adding a dash of spooky fun to our Sensory Saturday Hands-On program! Drop by the Membership Garden to enjoy Halloween-inspired sensory play and creative activities using non-toxic, sensory-friendly materials. Costumes are welcome (but totally optional)!
This month’s “Spooky Edition” activities include:
🧙♀️Crafting your own mini witch’s broomstick to practice fine motor skills (take-home art project)
🎃Decorating mini plastic pumpkins with paint markers (take-home art project)
🔮Working together on a collaborative Halloween mural painting
🦇Exploring a spooky slime bin filled with Halloween-themed textures and treasures
All ages are welcome, though activities are generally designed for ages 2–10.
Spots are limited, so please register in advance and select your preferred time slot.
